Public Partnerships

The Kirchman Foundation has formed strategic partnerships with governmental agencies and charitable organizations to meet the growing needs of the public.  We are committed to making its programming available to a broad range of children and individuals through our  partnerships.

We have partnered with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office to develop the Sheriffs Summer Adventure Camp.  The Adventure Camp is an opportunity for todays youth, who many are disconnected from law enforcement, to spend time building bridges with officers. The goal of Adventure Camp is to keep children in school, away from crime and create respectful relationships between law enforcement  and youth.  Hundreds of children ages 10-14 are selected by their school resources officer to participate in Adventure Camp.

Adventure Camp

Campers will participate in activities designed to improve self-esteem, teamwork, tolerance, discipline, and a sense of connection with others and mastery of their own lives.  Activities include a ropes challenge course, biking, kayaking, team sports, camping, learning to fish, nature walks, and environmental education.

    Additional Information

At the Kirchman Foundation we have created a unique and rich educational experience for all individuals, and especially children.  It is our hope that all who visit the Lake X Ranch will leave with a new awareness and understanding of nature, wildlife, and old Florida.

The Foundation conducts on-site educational programs and workshops, and operates recreational facilities.  The Foundation’s primary means of outreach to children is through its partnership with the Osceola County School Board and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.  Through this partnership, the Foundation is able to host area school children and work with their teachers to provide a one of a kind experience through field trips and other educational programming.  In addition to these programs, the Foundation and the Sheriff’s Office have partnered to host an eight-week summer adventure camp program for at risk youth selected from area schools.  Participants enjoy activities such as nature walks, guided tours, classroom speakers, artifact collection activities, ropes course, kayaking, air rifles, archery, and team building games.

The Foundation continues to expand its partnership with Osceola County and other organizations to meet the needs of the general public who may benefit from the programs offered by the Foundation at the Lake X Ranch.
