The Kirchman Foundation has created a unique and rich educational experience for all individuals, and especially children. It is our hope that all who visit the Lake X Property will leave with a new awareness and understanding of nature, wildlife, and old Florida.
The Foundation conducts free on-site educational programs and workshops. The Foundation’s primary means of outreach to children is through its partnership with the Osceola County School District and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Through this partnership, the Foundation is able to host area school children and work with their teachers to provide a one of a kind experience through field trips and other educational programming.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office created the Juveniles Unleashing Maximum Potential (J.U.M.P.) program to establish valuable relationships with the youths of Osceola County and as a catalyst to encourage positive decision-making. It is a mentorship program that benefits juveniles who have already been involved in the criminal justice system and those who have not by encouraging youths to make positive decisions.
The Kenneth Kirchman Foundation partners with the Sheriffs Office and J.U.M.P. to help relieve the burden of local government by supporting programs in the outdoors. While J.U.M.P is on our campus they receive conservation training, they spend time at the Les and Sally Murdock Traiing Center and often do field exercises.
The Kenneth Kirchman Foundation currently partners with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation agency through the Florida Youth Conservation Network. Through our partnership’s, we are able to provide woods, wildlife and water conservation training to our guests through a variety of programs. The foundation uses Project Wild, Aquatic Wild and Flying Wild curriculum to teach conservation.
Project WILD's mission is to provide wildlife-based conservation and environmental education that fosters responsible actions toward wildlife and related natural resources. All curriculum materials are backed by sound educational practices and theory, and represent the work of many professionals within the fields of education and natural resource management from across the country
Kenneth Kirchman Foundation has partnered with the the Osceola Sheriff’s Office Adventure Camp in a six(6) week summer program to encourage children ages 11-14 to stay in school, away from criminal activity and value individual differences. Each week a different set of 16 girls and 16 boys attend with over 30 Law Enforcement personnel who supervise the youth twenty four hours a day.
Through activities and team building games, participants develop an understanding and tolerance through valuing individual differences, and connecting with others while working towards a common goal. Campers strengthen their self-esteem, discipline, and self-worth.
Our deputies and Staff share their skills in Gun Safety, Archery, Conservation Swim Safety, Canoeing, Kayaking, Hiking and a High and Low Element Ropes Challenge Course.
The Sheriff’s Adventure Camp program has been running for over 20 years and has made a positive impact on thousands of students.
