The Kirchman Academy mission is to provide educational opportunities to our youth through life-changing experiences in the outdoors.
The Kenneth Kirchman Foundation currently partners with Florida Fish and Wild Life, along with lake Biologist to host educational fishing programs. Our programming goals are designed to educate future anglers on the importance of proper fish handling techniques and conservation protocols to insure the vitality of the fishery.
The Osceola Sheriff’s Adventure Camp is a six(6) week summer program to encourage children ages 11-14 to stay in school, away from criminal activity and value individual differences. Each week a different set of 16 girls and 16 boys attend with over 30 Law Enforcement personnel who supervise the youth twenty four hours a day.
Our deputies share their skills in Gun Safety, Archery, Swim Safety, Canoeing, Kayaking, Hiking and a High and Low Element Ropes Challenge Course. Funding for the camp is strictly through fundraising and the generosity of local businesses and their sponsorships.
The Kenneth Kirchman Foundation proudly supports the Catch A Dream Foundation. We have enjoyed serving along side C.A.D.F.as they seek to assist families who are challenged with a a chid who suffers from a life threatening illness.
The Kirchman Academy mission is to educate our youth through one of a kind outdoor experiences. In an age where our society is becoming disconnteted and distracted by more indoor activitie. Our aim is to provide unique educational opportunities that can seldom be replicated absent from the outdoors. While on the premises, students can experience old Florida in the woods, wildlife and water. Our goal is that once a student has spent time attending a field trip, training in the archery center or fishing on our fishing peer, they will appreciate the wonder of the outdoors and seek to pursue more outdoor adventure. Additionally, our hope is that we raise awareness among children about the importance of protecting natural habitats and environmentally sensitive lands.
Our fishery and waters are very unique and monitored by biologists continually. Lake X is the largest wholly owned natural lake in all of Florida. By meticulously practicing best land and water management, we are able to use the lake and fishery quite often as a magnificent classroom. While at Lake X a student can learn about fish conservation and the lakes fragile aquatic eco systems. Our goal is that a student leaves with a new understanding of how important our natural waters and wetland resources are for our very survival.
